Forgot to say.
I’m a sucker for futuristic romances and action romances, so it’s no surprise I bought some Shomi books from Borders today: Eve Kenin’s Hidden and Driven, Michele Lang’s Netherwood, and Colby Hodge’s Twist.
I wasn’t sure if I would buy Twist because the heroine’s name is Abbey, which is heavily associated to a type of buildings in England. It’s like calling the heroine Brownstone or Townhouse. Or Church. The hero’s name isn’t any better: Shane. It makes me think of this highly quotable line from a certain Western film: “Shane! Come baaack!”
I was disappointed Liz Maverick’s Wired wasn’t in stock. I rather enjoyed her earlier books, particularly The Shadow Runners. I hated it at first (I was shocked because (considering it’s a futuristic romance), Australia was once again a British colony), but after second read, loved it because of the heroine, Jenny Red.
There were Marianne Mancusi’s Moongazer and Razor Girl (great title), but I refuse to buy them because I didn’t enjoy her earlier novels: A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur’s Court and What, No Roses? (which was disappointing because I love reading any novels with 1920s setting).
Let’s hope I’ll enjoy those Shomi books. Fingers crossed.
Welcome back!
Hi hi, Keishon! Thanks for the welcome. Glad you found your way to here. Heheheh. Am still working on a list of recommended mystery/suspense/thriller novels. (Am having fun.)
