My PC is showing classic signs of dying. Time to buy a new PC.
W (a hardcore Machead) and I had a look around. It was not long before WTF? floated over our heads. More than once, W got annoyed with me because I was so shallow. I kept being drawn to those PCs with the coloured cases (green and pink caught my attention), such as Dell Studio Hybrid. So small, so pretty. At one time, a Hello Kitty mini notebook caught my attention. He kept chanting into my ear: “Look at the spec! Look at the spec!”
In the end, W suggested we should just buy it online, instead of wandering through aisles of PCs while shooting a “We’re fine alone, thank you!” glare at an assistant hovering near by. He was getting cranky (but never is whenever in an Apple shop, though), so I agreed with the suggestion.
He still hasn’t given up trying to get me to buy a Mac, but I still can’t and won’t go for it. I spent a couple of years working with a Mac at work and it kept freezing, which soured my view of all things Mac. It’s not very adventurous, either. It really doesn’t like it when you try to peer in its insides. It just made me feel it was designed for the unadventurous idiots (to this, W said with defensive irritation, “No, it’s just you. You’re the idiot who didn’t know how to handle a Mac properly.” ::snerk::).
We may have given up today, but will try again tomorrow. W isn’t looking forward to it, though. Heheh.
